Wynter Gives Insight Into Our “Bare Beauty”

Here is one phenomenal woman! I’ve had the pleasure of working with her in a professional capacity and she is definitely the REAL DEAL when it comes to skincare and all things health and wellness. Let’s get to know, our May Spotlight Womenpreneur, Wynter Hutchinson!

1. Tell me about your business.

Bare Beauty NYC is a skincare boutique located in Brooklyn, NY. I am a licensed skincare specialist and offer advice, treatment services, as well as a detailed regimen for you to follow through with at home to assist you with your skin concerns and obtain your desired results – healthy, radiant skin.

2. What is a typical work day like for you?

Arrive at the office and assess my scheduled treatments for the day. I then review recent client sheets and follow up with them on their post treatment results and see if there are any questions that they may have regarding my recommendations. I love staying up-to-date on the latest findings regarding skin, health, and beauty. When I have free time, I research different topics relating to skincare and ingredients.

Recently, I have been writing some articles that I will be sharing on my website (www.barebeautynyc.com) to help keep the community informed about the latest trends and insights relating to various skincare products and ingredients; what to look for when shopping and how to understand what to select when you are overwhelmed with a vast assortment of products to chose.

3. What is your favorite way to relax after a hard day’s work?

I love baths! To just take the time to relax and unwind in the tub with candles and some soothing bath salts is a wonderful treat. I always tell my clients and friends, that if you can just take 20 minutes out of your day to take a mental break, you will see and feel the difference.

For an amazing bath treatment, I recommend adding some essential oils (chamomile, lavender, eucalyptus, jasmine) blended with a carrier oil (coconut, avocado, almond, jojoba); the aromatherapy from the oils and bath salts help to send signals to your brain to relax and calm the mind. I love Himalayan salts, and I add that to my bath water all the time. Himalayan salt has about 80 minerals and nutrients that are beneficial for the body and skin. It aids in minimizing swelling, keeping the pH levels of the body stable, detoxifying and removing impurities from the body, and so much more.

4. What does self-care mean to you?

Self care is understanding and listening to your body and it’s needs. I believe also, that taking preventative measures will aid in minimizing physical stress on the body. It is very important to take the time to treat your body as your temple. Be cautious with what you put inside of your body, as well as what you place on the outside. Our skin is our largest organ, and it absorbs everything we place on it. The more that you supply your body with the proper nourishment and nutrients it needs, the happier it will be and you will visually see/feel the difference.

5. Why is self care so difficult to practice?

Our lifestyles have become so hectic and chaotic, that it is difficult to keep up with taking time out for self. Unfortunately, we have placed precedence into our work lives, and having time for one-self has been diminished drastically. However, that is not to say that there are not ways to become creative and find ways to still care for our body while living a busy life.

6. If you could give one piece of advice to a hard-working woman, with a family who is chasing her dreams and could use a little “me time”, what would you say?

You just need a moment. If there is anyway that you can get 15 minutes of peaceful, alone time that would be great! If you can not take a soaking bath, elect for a shower and maybe put some essential oils in the shower and take deep inhalations while the steam and botanical blends permeate the air. Another option would be to find your favorite place in your home that you can escape to. Sit down and place a warm herbal compress on your neck/shoulders and meditate or just take more deep inhalations. Taking this time will help you to regain a sense of calm and provide peace.
